Here’s What You’ll Need

Let’s take a look at the ingredients you’ll need to make Kitchen Sink Cookie Skillet. See bottom of post’s recipe card for full instructions.

  • salted butter, salted– For most of my recipes I use salted butter. Unsalted works too.
  • granulated sugar– This fine white sugar adds sweetness to the cookie.
  • light brown sugar– Make sure your brown sugar is packed when measuring. It also adds sweetness to the skillet cookie.
  • large egg– For consistency, I use large eggs in my cooking and baking.
  • pure vanilla extract– Use pure vanilla extract for best tasting results.
  • all-purpose flour– Flour is the main dry ingredient in the cookies.
  • kosher salt– Kosher salt is a course salt commonly used in cooking and baking. I prefer it over table salt.
  • baking soda– Baking soda helps the cookies rise during baking.
  • white chocolate chips– White chips are found in the chocolate chip section of the grocery store.
  • chocolate chips– Use milk or semi-sweet chocolate chips.
  • mini marshmallows– Mini Marshmallows get melted into the cookie.
  • chopped pecans– Optional, but great for those who like nuts in their cookies.

How To Make a Skillet Cookie

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. and lightly spray an 8-10 inch oven proof skillet with cooking spray.
  • Making The Cookie Dough-In a mixing bowl cream the butter and sugar until well combined. Stir in egg and vanilla, mixing to combine. Add flour, baking soda and salt, stirring to combine. Stir in chips, marshmallows pecans and coconut stirring until just combined.
  • Baking The Cookies- Press into skillet and bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden and baked through. Remove and serve warm, top with ice cream if desired.

What Kind of Skillet Should I Use For Skillet Cookies?

I prefer to use cast iron skillets for my skillet cookies, but any skillet with a heat-proof handle works great! Since it’s baked in the oven, the handle needs to be metal, not plastic.

What Does “Kitchen Sink” Cookies Mean?

When you hear “kitchen sink” cookies, it refers to the saying, Everything but the kitchen sink! This means, just about everything is included in this cookie dough. So many great ingredients!

How Should I Serve Skillet Cookies?

Serve your skillet cookies right out of the skillet making sure your guests know the skillet is hot. Make sure you wrap the handle with a towel to ensure no one accidentally touches it. Top your skillet cookies with vanilla ice cream and even drizzle with chocolate sauce and warm caramel! Doesn’t get better than that!

What Else Can I Add To My Kitchen Sink Cookie Dough?

One of my favorite things about baking cookies, is you can personalize them to all of your favorite things! If you like certain nuts or candy bars, chop them up and add them to your skillet cookie. Just about anything goes. Enjoy!

How To Serve

Serve skillet cookie warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top either in individual bowls or share from the skillet if desired.

How To Store Leftovers

Store any leftovers, without ice cream on top in an airtight container for up to 3 days room temperature or in the refrigerator.
