How do I claim a discount code on TurboTax? ›

If you have a Form 1040 return and are claiming limited credits only, you can file for free yourself with TurboTax Free Edition, or you can file with TurboTax Live Assisted Basic or TurboTax Full Service at the listed price.

Your license code is a 16-character combination of letters and numbers (XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX) that verifies the software and allows you to finish installing and begin using TurboTax.

The 5 digit pin is a number you created last year when you e-filed your return. To e-file this year's return, you need EITHER the 5 digit pin you created last year (you create a new one each time you e-file) OR last year's AGI number - you do not need both.
